
Chinese DRAM makers, led by firms such as CXMT, are rapidly ramping LPDDR4 production to pick up customers Samsung has moved away from as it focuses on LPDDR5. That shift could ease shortages and price pressure for devices still using LPDDR4 — including some laptops and consoles — and changes competitive dynamics among Samsung, SK hynix, Micron and new Chinese entrants. The move also illustrates China’s broader push to build domestic semiconductor capacity and reduce reliance on foreign suppliers.
