The teenagers who killed three people at the Islamic Center of San Diego met online and left writings expressing a broad hatred of different religions and races, and investigators say the teens cited prior atrocities as inspiration. Updated records show one suspect, Caleb Vazquez, had been reported to police last year for idolizing Nazis and mass shooters, prompting authorities to seize his family’s guns at that time. Additional recordings show the attackers filmed the killings and at least three people watched a livestream of the attack; one viewer urged another to alert law enforcement though it's not known whether anyone did. Authorities continue to treat the killings as a hate crime and are investigating motive, timing, and possible links to other attacks.
