France says cruise ship Andes virus matches known South American viruses - AP News

France’s Pasteur Institute fully sequenced the Andes virus found in a French passenger from the cruise ship MV Hondius and determined it matches Andes hantaviruses already known in South America. The genetic result provides laboratory confirmation that at least one infection linked to the ship involves the Andes variant. This finding complements ongoing WHO-led investigations and international repatriation, testing and monitoring of passengers.
