Gemini Omni, the ‘create anything’ model, starts today with lifelike video - 9to5Google

Google has launched Gemini Omni, a generative model family able to produce high-fidelity video and multimodal content, and it is available now. Gemma 4's laptop-sized, 'open' design complements Omni by enabling lighter-weight or on-device generative tasks and faster prototyping on personal machines, while Omni remains the backend for heavier multimodal creation. Together these models reflect Google's strategy of pairing powerful cloud models with smaller local variants to broaden device support.
