The carcass of a humpback whale nicknamed “Timmy” or “Hope” was dragged onto a Danish beach after about two weeks floating in shallow Baltic waters. The animal had attracted intense public attention after repeatedly stranding off Germany and being refloated and released into the North Sea. Authorities have scheduled an autopsy next week to determine the cause of death and assess the whale’s condition following the earlier rescue.
