Apple has released iOS 26.5 after about a month of testing, with a key upgrade to messaging: beta support for end-to-end encrypted RCS chats between iPhone and Android users in the Messages app. The update also includes modest Apple Maps changes such as Suggested Places and an ads-related popup seen in betas, along with stability and bug fixes carried through the beta cycle. This rollout follows the recent beta and release-candidate builds that tested these features ahead of the public release.
