Severe storms produced multiple tornadoes across parts of Illinois and Indiana, leveling homes, downing trees and power lines, and overwhelming emergency services in some areas. Recent coverage notes that communities across the Midwest are beginning cleanup after those tornadoes as another round of severe thunderstorms is forecast across the Southern Plains, Mississippi Valley and Great Lakes. The ongoing outbreak remains dangerous as supercells capable of producing intense tornadoes and very large hail continue to move through the region.
