DJI agreed to pay Sammy Azdoufal $30,000 after he used code produced by Anthropic’s Claude to accidentally access a network of about 7,000 DJI robot vacuums. The incident appears to have been unintentional and DJI’s payment resolves the unauthorized access. The case highlights how AI-generated code can be used to probe or interact with large fleets of devices. At the same time, DJI is continuing consumer product development — for example launching the Mic Mini 2 with customizable covers and voice presets — showing it is balancing product innovation with addressing security and public-relations issues.
