Residents along the West Coast reported a bright green fireball early Monday, and video captured the streak over Portland’s Parkrose neighborhood between about 5:55 and 6:20 a.m. A dashcam from a driver recorded the same bright green streak at about 6:06 a.m., corroborating those reports. The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry describes a fireball as a very bright meteor visible from high altitudes, so the event is consistent with a meteor or bolide; no confirmed ground impacts have been reported. The sighting adds to recent meteor reports elsewhere in the U.S. and underscores the value of public video and follow-up searches.
