The Unama’ki Institute of Natural Resources has been awarded $491,000 to establish a network of ecological corridors across Cape Breton. The project will create interconnected areas of land and water that honor Indigenous stewardship values, allow species to move freely, and support sustainable livelihoods. This Mi'kmaw-led effort aims to strengthen biodiversity resilience while advancing locally led conservation and economic opportunities.
