An experimental drug, daraxonrasib, produced striking early results in advanced pancreatic cancer, roughly doubling patients’ survival in a recent trial. The newly released trial data reinforce the drug’s potential and suggest it may also be active against other tumors driven by similar KRAS mutations, including some lung, colon and ovarian cancers. While the result bolsters momentum for KRAS-targeted drug development and interest in complementary approaches like personalized vaccines, larger trials and broader validation are still required before it changes standard care.
