Researchers and drug developers are advancing multiple strategies to target KRAS mutations long considered 'undruggable,' producing candidates now progressing through the pipeline for KRAS-driven cancers. The clinical success reported for daraxonrasib, which roughly doubled survival in advanced pancreatic cancer in the newly released trial results, provides real-world evidence that some KRAS-targeted approaches can deliver major clinical benefit and may accelerate further development. Nonetheless, challenges around delivery, managing side effects and ensuring broad trial access remain significant hurdles.
