
Some users of GLP-1 drugs such as semaglutide (Ozempic) are reporting emotional blunting and a reduced ability to feel pleasure or connect, an effect being called "Ozempic personality" online. New research showing GLP-1s can reshape brain circuits gives biological plausibility to these anecdotal reports and suggests clinicians should monitor mental health, social functioning and mood as part of care. Systematic studies are needed to determine how common, severe, and reversible these effects are.
