Valve has announced plans to block bots and scalpers so more genuine buyers can purchase upcoming hardware, responding to shortages and secondary-market markups. For the Steam Machine launching June 29 at $1,049 Valve will use a randomized purchase queue as part of that effort. The move addresses earlier controller launch problems where scalping left many customers empty-handed, though initial availability may still be limited.
