NASA approved a six-minute main-engine burn to push the Orion capsule out of low Earth orbit and begin the four-day transit to the Moon; that maneuver successfully placed Artemis II on its translunar trajectory. The mission has since passed the midpoint between Earth and the Moon and returned photos of Earth. Crew members repaired a prior toilet malfunction en route, and the system has acted up again with a reported burning odor that Mission Control says it is investigating but does not view as an immediate safety risk.
